Yes, I saw few in the menu
Definitely No. They served pork as well as alcoholic drink. So the name "Medina" might mislead muslims.
It depends, usually its too crowded and others conversations are around and very hardly sometimes to have quiet chatting.
I don't think they accept reservation, it's first come first serve basis. I'd suggest to come a bit early since the queue can go up to an hour or even more during weekends.
Lighter fare and sides under $10, bigger meals $15-20, those fabulous waffles are $3.50 and you can get them to go! CDN $
Yes, I'm sure they can accomodate a stroller but it may need to be parked near the entrance. The room is usually very busy.
Yes! Not the waffles though sadly. But the gluten free options are delicious and delightful, not dry or grainy in the slightest.
No
For the last time I went there, they do not take reservation in advance but you can get there in the morning leave your name and they will call you up if there is a waiting line already.
The staff was kind the moment I got here. I waited for an hour, but it was totally worth it! I had waffle that was sweet and soft. It was the best waffle I ever had.
Fantastic breakfast! We indulged in the Paella. Excellent flavor. Also had some of their liege waffles with various toppings. Worth it just for the coffee and waffles!
Is there a better breakfast place in the city? Unlikely. Genuinely worth the line up. Do yourself a favour- get a few waffles for your table and get yourself a lavender latte.
There was a long queue for a table and the hostess was so friendly and great. The waiter was very nice. The atmosphere felt really good too. The food was impeccable. It was a great breakfast and we would come back again.
MEDINA IS GREAT, THEY ARE A BIG HEART BUSINESS.. LOVE THE GOOD THEY OFFER, QUALITY!!!
The hostess did a great job of welcoming and greeting us but unfortunately things went down hill from there. Service was very poor I asked our waitress 3 times for cream and sugar for our coffee. She finally brought one packet of sugar for me but none for my companion. We asked again but it never arrived. I ended asking patrons at a table nearby if they had extra. No offer of coffee refills or if we needed anything else. Food was good but our waitress contributed to our decision to definitely not return
Almost 2 hours wait ....yes but was it worth the wait ...absolutely every second ....this place will make you feel like there is a explosion of spice in every bite ....not too much of ingredients very clean and simple but it's wow ...I must say chef knows what he wants to create ....visit here is a total yes ..if you are tourist go early book the spot wonder around go to the library and 90 min wait won't feel long at all .Great food amazing 👌 friendly staff will be here back soon
Come early and prepare yourself to be on the waitlist for about an hour. The wait is completely WORTH IT!!! Delicious breakfast and brunch options. Yummy waffles and good coffee. The staff are really personable, friendly, absolutely the BEST!! Can’t wait to come back here again.
There is always a queue for a table, so get there early, put your name down, and then do whatever you need to downtown while you’re waiting. But definitely wait! This is by far the best brunch in Vancouver. The host and service staff are super friendly, service is efficient, ambience is cozy - they have it down to a science. Lavender latte and their spiked coffee are fantastic. But the food... order anything, you won’t be disappointed.
I love the hot chocolate taste that with lavender smell, feels very relaxing. The waffles taste good too just for the topping I suggest to order something that not too sweet considering the waffle itself already with sugar on the top. The mets taste fine but little bit costly. Overall, it is a nice place to enjoy your lunch time, remember to make a reservation first nor you have to wait for long time.
A 1hr wait but ended up having Greatest brunch I’ve had in Vancouver to this day. On the pricier side but it was super filling and the flavours were top. Service was good because they weren’t so hovering. Overall loved it.
Really nice breakfast spot, I got this mushroom dish. It was pretty solid, the waffle was very good, the raspberry caramel was a bit too sweet for me. The service was great hence the five stars. In terms of food I would give it a 4.
I really enjoy brunch at Medina. To me the food is fantastic, and I'm on a mission of trying everything on the menu! The atmosphere is good. It's a popular place so it does get crowded and noisy but the food is worth it! Also, one of the best customer service experiences I've had. Kindest staff ever!
The sometimes longer wait is absolutely worth it! Have been here twice and never disappointed. Small cozy space feels much larger than it is with high ceilings, white/gray with bright aqua accents and lots of natural light from the large windows. Delicious cappuccino, tea, food and waffles. Oh. MY. Goodness! I like to share a meal so I can save room for waffles and a lots of topping/sauce choices. I’ve tried most and my two favorites are the salted caramel and passion fruit - not one that I would normally get, but wow, glad I took the recommendation from staff. The waffles are smaller so don’t be afraid to order 2 or three to share and try, has a sweet, buttery, caramelized and a bit crispy outside, while the center is soft and almost pastry like. They’re perfect on their own, but you must try their variety of toppings. Also try the pork belly sandwich with Brie - you won’t be sorry.
This is without a doubt the best brunch in Vancouver. Do yourself a favour and sit at the bar. His name is Jeff and he is incredible. Talented bartender who clearly loves his job and the peeps that he works with
This restaurant is awesome! They’ve so many delicious options on their menu!! They’re usually crowded. So, be prepared for long wait times. We had to wait for an hour. We used that time to walk down to the steam clock. They’ve a lot of vegetarian options on the menu. I tried their little waffle with passion fruit dip and a vegetarian version of the paella. Both the dishes were yummy! I loved the waffle so much that I ended up ordering it thrice! If you’re in Vancouver downtown, visit this place for brunch! It is totally worth the wait time! 😊😊
Food was very tasty and services was also quick at reasonable price range.
I believe that they have a great brunch, but I'd think twice if you were to consider them for a special event booking. At my birthday party, they were incredibly rude with our group, especially my wife who organized the party as well as her closest friends. If they had been more respectful to our group, we would have been more understanding, but I am still sickened by their lack of professionalism.
The French guy behind the bar was incredibly rude after telling him I did not like the drink that was served me.I did not order any food after that the whole place gave an odd pretentious vibe after that. My group ordered and enjoyed their meals but I, however, am not a fan.
Never disappointed. Great coffee. Lavender waffles. And good conversation. Thank you for another amazing dining experience Cafe Medina.
On our way passing through Vancouver we had no clue where to eat. This place was not just reccomend by multiple people and google, it was highly praised by all. As it should be! Medina was a wonderful experience me and my mother had together. I had the fricassee while my mother had the mushroom skillet, while we shared a side of bacon. Hands down delicious. One thing you should her aware of is this place is popular, and most of Vancouver knows it as well too. This place can easily have an hour wait time. In my opinion...worth it. Thanks Medina!
This place is seriously every bit as good as the reviews say. Both amazing food and coffee. We did have to wait over an hour to be seated but the place is packed for a reason. Our server was warm, patient and helpful. Try the lemonade with hibiscus! Incredible!!
Delicious all day breakfast food, great service, excellent decor/environment. The small details such as metal water cups, a “flask†for your spiked coffee, is very nice to see. Price: above average. No substitutions allowed. Daily special frittata was good, but the short rib skillet was truly tasty. Waffle as a desert completes the meal. Small seated waiting area tucked away from the entrance is a nice thought (intentional or not) away from the elements.
Food are fresh and amazed me, specially their homemade sauces are so great.Definitely worth to visit. Food is little pricey comparing to regular breakfast restaurants.
Unique menu with a variety of breakfast dishes, the quality of the ingredients is excellent. I definitely recommend trying at least one of their famous waffles (if you can stop at 1). Also I appreciate that they will cook the eggs to your preference rather than what is outlined in the menu for the various dishes. The only issue is the line up, there is always one, and you need to get their before they open.
Best breakfast in Vancouver. Don't be fooled by the queue. Go in, put your name down and they'll tell you when to come back for your table. Amazing service and the waffles are the greatest thing ever!
We had to wait a bit for a table on a weekday morning. While frustrating when you're hungry, it's always a good sign. Once we were inside I loved the atmosphere. The menu was the most innovative brunch menu I've seen. Coffee (especially the cappuccino) is on my top 10 of best I've ever had. The food was cooked perfectly. The flavor and spices were phenomenal. 100% would go back
I loved! Such a nice place, nice people, great service. The food is very tasty and yummy loved. I had the hot milk chocolate lavender and salmon fume so delicious. I totally recommend. I wish I could go back but tomorrow we leave BC so I’m definitely going to miss this place. Well, really happy that we encounter and had such a great time there.
Not much to say about this place that has not been said already from what I can see. The service was great, everyone was professional while maintaining their humanity and the food was delicious. Etc, etc.Oh and the White Chocolate Pistachio Rosewater topping on the waffles at the end was really something else.
Great brunch place! I highly recommend the waffles. The service was great also! Only thing is you want to come earlier as it gets busy quite quickly.
This place was phenomenal! The staff were friendly and helpful. The food was so good! This was my first experience in Vancouver and it left a pleasant taste in my mouth — Literally ;)
Great breakfast menu. Picked up brunch today, staff is always friendly.
Beautiful menu (in terms of both taste and plating) and cool vibes. There was a bit of wait but wasn’t too bad. Definitely wanna go again!
A Vancouver GEM!!!! You have to try the waffles :) I love the white chocolate rose water dip. They do have a line up most days but there is lots of things in walking distance to kill time. Deffs worth the wait!
It was nice and great place. I already knew this is popular place but It was first time for me. Waffle was very soft and awesome! Paella is also good. Host and severs are very friendly and nice. Their service made the food stand out all the better.
Such a pretty place as everyone knows already!! Great prices not expensive atall so yummy super clean amazing friendly crew.. highly recommended!!
